Despacito was a track from the year 2017 made by Puerto Rican singer Luis Fonsi. It was the most popular streamed song across the globe within six months. The song was a mix of reggaeton and pop that not only drew attention to Latin Music but as well reggaeton. The Billboard Top 100 included four mostly Spanish tracks in 2016 compared with two for 2015. In 2017, at the height of Despacito's popularity 19, 19 songs mostly in Spanish made it to the Top 100. By 2020 the number will increase to 41 songs within this genre. Justin Bieber re-mixed Despacito with a Spanish version in 2017 and soon after famous artists started working with reggaeton artists. Drake teamed with Bad Bunny to create MIA (2018) as well as Madonna worked on Medellin along with Maluma (2019). Some reggaeton artists have criticized the shift to mainstream music in 2020. However, a brand new band, Rauw Alejandro was determined to keep the evolution and development of reggaeton. The genre often included elements of electronic dance music, as well as different forms.
