She was born in Santa Monica California, the United States of America on November 26 in 1986. She is the daughter of her father Vincenzo and mother Valerie Barba. At the age of six, her family and moved into Point Pleasant New Jersey. As for her education she attended Red Bank Catholic High School in New Jersey. She then attended Catholic University and graduated with a bachelor's degree in architecture. Additionally, she began playing the violin around age four, and was called Violin Girl. Performances by her led to the use of her nickname. She also taught violin to the neighborhood children. She sang Free throughout 1976 when she made the auditions for America Idol's 6th season when she was the age of 19. She was eventually eliminated when she reached the 16th spot in American Idol.
